Director of Studies

The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is currently recruiting a full-time Deputy Director to be based in its London headquarters to be responsible for the direction and management of the IISS Office of the Director of Studies. Pending the appointment of the Deputy Director, the IISS has put in place an Interim Management Committee comprised of Nick Redman, Director of Editorial and Editor, Strategic Survey and Adelphi Books; Dana Allin, Senior Fellow for US Foreign Policy and Transatlantic Affairs and Editor of Survival; and Rahul Roy-Chaudhury, Senior Fellow for South Asia. The committee will manage and provide the Office of the Director of Studies with weekly oversight, guidance and judgement on strategic and substantive issues.

About the Director of Studies’ Office: The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is the leading global authority on geopolitics, defence and security policy, and geo-economics. Headquartered in the UK, the Institute also has offices in the US, Singapore and Bahrain. The Director of Studies works with regional and thematic research programmes and international offices to set the IISS’s intellectual objectives, develops and implements strategies to raise funds to support research, projects policy analysis to key audiences in government, business, academia and the media, and is the interface for the Institute’s global network of individual members.
