How do the rise of India and China as global economic powers provide new opportunities for GCC economies to increase their global investment outreach? This workshop brought together high-profile speakers from Bahrain and the wider Gulf, India and China to discuss the theme. Participants also explored the challenges that could face investors seeking to expand into unfamiliar regions.

Speakers included ambassadors and global business leaders from the energy sector, financial services and telecommunications, as well as GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) ministry representatives and geo-economics experts.

This meeting was hosted by Dr Sanjaya Baru, director of the IISS Geo-economics and Strategy Programme. It took place at IISS-Middle East headquarters in Manama, Bahrain.
