Conference Registration opens at 14:00 on Friday 19 September in the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel.  Participants are kindly asked to show photographic identification on arrival at the registration desk. Please ensure that you wear your badge at all times during the conference programme.

Visa Requirements

Foreign nationals require a valid and accepted travel document to enter Norway. In addition, a Visa is required in certain cases. Applications for visas to Norway are made at a Norwegian Embassy.

If it is decreed that you need a supporting letter to complete your application, please send a request to [email protected]: we will need to know your passport nationality and number, plus the location of the Norwegian Embassy you intend to approach.

The Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel is located in the heart of Oslo city centre.
The easiest way to get to the hotel from the airport is by using the Airport Express Train, the “Flytoget”. The train stops the Central Station which is just across the street from the Radisson. The trip takes approximately 20 minutes and trains run every 10 minutes.  We would like to recommend this as the easiest and quickest solution, certainly for delegates that are residing at the Radisson. A one-way fare on the Flytoget is NOK180.

The hotel is also accessible by taxi from Oslo Airport, but please note it is advisable to pre-order the taxi. The set rate is usually around NOK759 for a one-way trip for four people between the hotel and airport. If the taxi is not pre-ordered the normal rate will be charged, which would be approximately NOK1200 dependent on traffic. A recommended taxi firm is Oslo Taxi.

On departure from the Global Strategic Review, we recommend that delegates depart directly from the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel via the Flytoget train.  Shuttle bus services will not be provided.

Dinner Guests

Please contact the GSR team if you would like to reserve an extra place at the evening dinner(s) for your spouse. Please note that an extra place is chargeable by the hotel and that due to capacity restrictions, places at the dinners are extremely limited and cannot be agreed until 1 September.

Please direct any enquiries regarding the GSR to [email protected] or phone +44 20 7379 7676.

Special Sessions

The special sessions will take place on Saturday afternoon. The programme will divide into two sittings of six special sessions each. Please provide details of your first and second choices via the online registration form. Participants will be assigned to one session within each sitting.

The IISS will endeavour to give participants their first choice within each sitting, but owing to limited capacity and to avoid overcrowding, we may have to reallocate participants to another of the sessions. Those who have not indicated a preference will be assigned a session by the IISS.
