ANKARA, AUG 5 (BNA)-- His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa today visited the Turkish armed forces command in Ankara as part of his visit to Turkey.

 

His Majesty was received on his arrival by the commander General Yasar Buyukanit and top officials at the command. During a meeting with General Buyukanit and top command officials, His Majesty reviewed bilateral ties and means of promoting joint cooperation and coordination, mainly in military and defence areas.

 

His Majesty hailed the level of Bahraini-Turkish ties and affirmed the keenness on further enhancing them. In a statement following the meeting, His Majesty commended fruitful cooperation between the two countries in security and military areas. His Majesty hoped that relations in this field will witness further development through agreements signed by the two countries.

The meeting also discussed the importance of regional and international dialogue in security and military issues. In this regard, His Majesty pointed to the pioneering role of Turkey in this vital areas and its valuable contribution in such meetings.

 

His Majesty also said the meeting discussed cooperation between the GCC and Turkey in efforts to make the Middle East a region free of mass destruction arms, including nuclear weapons.
