The 6th Asia Security Summit, also known as the Shangri-La Dialogue, will be held for two days from Friday to discuss regional security cooperation and the North Korean nuclear issue.
The annual event organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, will bring together 27 government delegations, including Defence Ministers from 14 countries.
New Delhi, May 30 -- Defence Minister A.K. Antony met his South Korean counterpart Kim Jang-soo here on Wednesday in the first-ever defence talk between the two Asian countries.
Sources said that the visiting Minister discussed promoting defence cooperation, such as joint naval exercises and trade of defence materials, with India.
According to the Defence Ministry, the meeting was largely aimed at laying the groundwork for closer defence cooperation between New Delhi and Seoul.
Later, Kim met Indian Army Chief General J.J.Singh.
