LONDON, July 20 (APP): Chairperson, Pakistan Peoples Party Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto has welcomed the reinstatement of Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr.Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry by the Supreme Court saying that it will help to diffuse the current situation in the country.
She was asked about her reaction during her address at the International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS) here on Friday. The PPP leader said although she has not read the full judgement but this was, nevertheless, a welcome development and promote democracy and the rule of law.
“This development will certainly help to diffuse the tension prevailing in the legal community ever since the Chief Justice was suspended and consolidate the civil society as well,” she added.
