The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is pleased to announce that the 5th Global Strategic Review (GSR) will take place from 7-9 September 2007 at the Intercontinental Hotel Geneva in Switzerland.
The 2007 GSR will focus on ‘Evolving Threats, Rising Powers, and Systemic Change’, bringing together several hundred senior ranking government officials, international experts, policy makers, academics and IISS Members from over 50 countries to discuss and address some of the world’s most critical issues. The GSR is an open and free-flowing forum that cultivates innovative ideas across multiple disciplines and professions.

The Keynote Address will be delivered by NATO Secretary-General Jakob Gijsbert ‘Jaap’ de Hoop Scheffer and is titled ‘The Role of NATO in Meeting Global Challenges.’ Other noteworthy speakers include: The Honorable Robert B Zoellick, President Nominee of the World Bank (invited); His Excellency Pascal Lamy, Director-General of the World Trade Organization; Admiral William J. Fallon, Commander of United States Central Command; Dr Jean-Marie Guéhenno, Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations of the United Nations; and Mohammed Dahlan, National Security Chief of the Palestinian Authority.
