MANAMA, DEC. 6, (BNA) -- His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa received in the presence of Crown Prince and BDF commander-in-chief Shaikh Salman bin Hamad al Khalifa at Safriya palace today US Secretary of Defence Robert Gates, currently visiting the kingdom to take part in Manama Dialogue security forum , due to kick-start tomorrow.
His Majesty reviewed with Gates the existing Bahrain-US friendship and cooperation ties, notably in the military coordination field. They also exchanged viewpoints on the themes to be tackled at Manama Dialogue forum and reviewed the latest regional and global developments relating to security, peace and stability as well as issues of common concern. His Majesty the King expressed appreciation of the US keenness to bolster cooperation with Bahrain and its role in keeping global security and stability. Present at the audience were the Royal Court Minister, the Minister of State for Defence Affairs, the US Ambassador to Bahrain and Gates' accompanying delegation.
