US military and foreign policy expert at the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Mark Fitzpatrick, has claimed that White House arms deals to its allies in the Middle East which is worth $63 billion, are meant to confront what US sees as Iran's growing influence in the region, Mehr news agency reported.

"The recent US arms deals to its allies in the Middle East region are part of Washington's preemptive policies against Iran. Such deals are meant to materialize two intents, confronting Iran's influence in the region and controlling Iran's nuclear activities," Fitzpatrick said.

An American expert says US arms packages for its allies are Washington's new strategy to confront Iran's influence in the region.

US military and foreign policy expert at the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Mark Fitzpatrick, has claimed that White House arms deals to its allies in the Middle East which is worth $63 billion, are meant to confront what US sees as Iran's growing influence in the region, Mehr news agency reported.

"The recent US arms deals to its allies in the Middle East region are part of Washington's preemptive policies against Iran. Such deals are meant to materialize two intents, confronting Iran's influence in the region and controlling Iran's nuclear activities," Fitzpatrick said.

He added, "Iran's nuclear activities have spurred other states in the Middle East to consider initiating their nuclear activities. Currently some states in the region have kicked off such activities and the US is seeking to dissuade its allies not to continue their nuclear activities by means of selling arms packages to them."
