The unveiling of the book is in conjunction with the 5th anniversary of The Shangri-La Dialogue held in Singapore now (June 2-4).

SINGAPORE: The International Institute for Strategic Studies or IISS launched a book titled The Military Balance 2006.

The Military Balance 2006 is an annual assessment of the military capabilities and defence economics of 169 nations world-wide.

The book gives a region-by region analysis of the major military and economic trends.

It also highlights the developments affecting defence and security policies and the trade in weapons and other military equipment.

The unveiling of the book is in conjunction with the 5th anniversary of The Shangri-La Dialogue held in Singapore now (June 2-4).

The event brings together International Defence Ministers and experts from countries such as the US, Australia and China.
