TEHRAN, Dec.10 (ISNA)-Iran's foreign minister, Manouchehr Mottaki who is on a trip to Bahrain for the third Annual Regional Security Summit for the Persian Gulf (December 8-10) in Manama dubbed "Manama Dialogue" met and discussed various issues with Bahrain's crown prince.
"The present relationship between both countries is quite positive with the effort of the high ranking officials on both sides and we must try expanding these relationships in all possible fields," stated Mottaki while expressing satisfaction about Iran-Bahrain ties.
Also about the security in the region, Mottaki stated that the most significant point in defining regional security was in preserving regional unity.
"The region should be safe for all countries and regional security should be discussed on the whole. We cannot allow one spot of the region generate and convey its insecurity to the other regional parts," he went on to say.
"We are ready to cooperate with neighboring countries in order to support regional security, because regional security could not possibly be supplied by infra regional powers," he asserted.
For his part, Bahrain's crown prince, Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also asserted on the necessity of preserving regional security with the cooperation of regional countries.
"We don't want the region to become insecure by irresponsible sides," he said.
Also while making a note of Iran's nuclear dossier; Shaikh Salman commented that Iran's nuclear issue should be resolved through negotiations.
"We cannot see anyway out but talks," he added.
