Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki in Manama Sunday [10 December] expressed Iran's readiness to cooperate with regional states to establish security.
Mottaki, who is currently on a visit to Manama, made the remark in a meeting with Bahraini Crown Prince Shaykh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa.
Tehran, 10 December: Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki in Manama Sunday [10 December] expressed Iran's readiness to cooperate with regional states to establish security.
Mottaki, who is currently on a visit to Manama, made the remark in a meeting with Bahraini Crown Prince Shaykh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa.
He said that foreign forces would not establish security in the region, adding, "Integrity of the region is the most important point in arranging regional security.
"The region should be safe for all countries. Security and transfer of energy should be viewed on equal footing.
"We should not think that insecurity in one part of the region will not spill over to other parts."
Mottaki praised good relations between Tehran and Manama, saying, "Mutual ties is at a good level thanks to the political determination of the two countries' high-ranking officials. We should strive to further bolster ties in all fields."
The Bahraini crown prince, for his part, stressed that regional security should be established through participation of all countries of the region.
Pointing to Iran's peaceful nuclear activities, he said that the case should be settled through negotiations.
Meanwhile, Mottaki held separate meetings with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari, French President Jacques Chirac's special adviser, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's adviser for security affairs, India's national security adviser, Pakistan's national security adviser and Egyptian deputy foreign minister and discussed bilateral ties and regional security.
