British researchers at the International Institute for Strategic Studies say Iran is at least five years from producing sufficient material for "a single nuclear weapon." Researchers believe they could have enough by the end of the decade only if they overcame an array of technical difficulties.
Their conclusions are based on visits to nuclear sites arranged by Iranian authorities. The researchers concede, however, there is a good deal that's unknown from the outside.

London, England (AHN) - British researchers at the International Institute for Strategic Studies say Iran is at least five years from producing sufficient material for "a single nuclear weapon." Researchers believe they could have enough by the end of the decade only if they overcame an array of technical difficulties.
Their conclusions are based on visits to nuclear sites arranged by Iranian authorities. The researchers concede, however, there is a good deal that's unknown from the outside.
The United States insists Iran is using its nuclear program to further ambitions to produce nuclear weapons. Iran maintains the program has only peaceful purposes.
The British researchers describe Iran's chemical and biological weapons as more difficult to assess.
