He met Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Co-Minister for National Defence Nhek Bunchhay; Mr Mark Burton, New Zealand's Minister for Defence; Philippine Secretary of National Defence Avelino J. Cruz .Jr; and South Korea's Minister for National Defence Yoon Kwang Ung.
The minister also met senior officials from China and France, who are among the 250 delegates attending the event.
United States General Richard Myers, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, received Singapore's highest military award from acting President Sim Kee Boon yesterday morning.
Gen Myers was decorated with the Distinguished Service Order (Military) at an investiture held at the Istana.
The ceremony was attended by guests such as Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean, US Ambassador to Singapore Frank Lavin, Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Yat Chung, and senior government and military officials from both countries.
The Defence Ministry said the award recognises the "significant role" Gen Myers served in enhancing excellent ties between both countries' armed forces.
