MANAMA: His Majesty King Hamad yesterday urged a common vision to defeat terrorism. Regional stability is the only way to protect oil supplies - and ensure freedom, tolerance and security.
He told heads of delegations taking part in the second Gulf security conference 'Gulf Dialogue' that Bahrain has always been a land of peaceful co-existence and free thought.
Terrorism threatens such freedoms - and life itself - he said at the Shaikh Hamad Palace audience.
The conference, hosted by Bahrain, has been organised by the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
He stressed that a united and secure Iraq can be the launch pad for reaching a common understanding with its neighbours and the entire international community on reconstruction of the region, which has been burdened by continued wars.
