Qatar’s First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani met here yesterday British Secretary of State for Defence John Reid on the sidelines of the Second Conference of the Gulf Security Dialogue which is currently in session in Manama.
MANAMA: Qatar’s First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani met here yesterday British Secretary of State for Defence John Reid on the sidelines of the Second Conference of the Gulf Security Dialogue which is currently in session in Manama.
Talks at the meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing them. The meeting was attended by Minister of State or Interior Affairs HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Thani, Director of the office of the first deputy premier and foreign minister, HE Sheikh Jabor bin Yousef al-Thani, and HE Sheikha al-Mayyasa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Assistant Director of the International Organisations and Agreements for Conferences Department at the Foreign Ministry.
He met the US Assistant Chief of National Security for Counter-terrorism Affairs Francis Townsend, Assistant Secretary of Defence for Political and Military Affairs Dr. John Helen, director of the National Intelligence Council Thomas Finger and a number of other US officials.
Discussion at the meeting centred on US-Qatar relations and ways of enhancing them.
The meeting was attended by director of the first deputy premier and foreign minister’s office HE Sheikh Jabor bin Yousuf al-Thani, The Assistant Foreign Minister for Follow-Up Affairs HE Mohamed Abdullah al-Romeihi and HE Sheikha al-Mayasah.
