The latest issue of Strategic Comments, the Institute's online journal, examines recent moves in North Korea’s dangerous game of missile launches and a nuclear test explosion. With North Korea apparently less concerned this time with wringing concessions from the West than with being accepted as a nuclear state, analysts are anxiously watching for its next major step.

The 8th IISS Asia Security Summit, the Shangri-La Dialogue has successfully concluded in Singapore. The Dialogue ran from 29-31 May 2009.

 

The Keynote Address was given by Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia. Robert Gates, US Secretary of Defense addressed the First Plenary Session 'America’s Security Role in the Asia-Pacific'. Read all Plenary Session Speeches.
