Assistant Editor, Strategic Comments
Responsibilities: Monitoring international security and defence-related topics for possible inclusion in Strategic Comments; copy-editing Strategic Comments articles from original manuscript to the published document; liaising with authors, newspapers and cartographers; marketing and promotion; and the use of design and DTP software to produce each issue. Jessica is also the Map Editor for Strategic Survey, which involves the writing and compilation of the 32-page ‘Strategic Geography’ section of the book, in conjunction with the Strategic Survey Editor and the designer/cartographer.
Background: Prior to taking up her current post in March 2007, Jessica was Assistant Editor of the Adelphi Papers series. Before joining the IISS, she worked at Chatham House from 2001 to 2005 where she served as Book Reviews Editor of International Affairs for two years. She is a graduate of Magdalene College, Cambridge, where she studied Modern and Medieval Languages (German and Russian).
