Expertise: Jason specialises in naval defence matters with particular reference to doctrine, capabilities and naval operations in addition to wider maritime security issues.
Current projects: As the maritime analyst for the IISS his main responsibilities include the production of the maritime component for one of the Institute's flagship publications The Military Balance - an authoritative assessment of the military capabilities and the defence economics of nearly 170 countries world wide.
Background: Jason Alderwick was educated at the University of York and is is a former Royal Naval Warfare Officer.
