Dialogues Press Officer and Project Coordinator, IISS-US

     

Main Responsibilities: researches and analyses non-state armed groups and terrorism for the Senior Fellow for Conflict & Defence Diplomacy and the Director of Transnational Threats and Political Risk.  Conducting extensive research on assassination patterns in Iraq against select groups.  Provides administrative support and coordinates media communications for the IISS Regional Security Summits in Singapore and Bahrain as a member of the Director-General’s office.  Serves as the Press Officer for the Global Strategic Review in Switzerland and the IISS-Citi India Global Forum in New Delhi.

 

Also provides support to IISS-US activities, including Membership relations and recruitment, media relations, publications, research, sponsorship, and promotion of IISS materials and databases.

 

Background: Kay Floyd received a BA in Government from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a MA War Studies from Kings College London, where her focus was on contemporary security and insurgency.  She previously worked in Bangkok as a Legal Officer for the Chief Judge of the Office of the President of the Supreme Court, and as Special Assistant to the Secretary of Technology in Virginia, following her selection as a Governor’s Fellow.
