Director of Finance and Technology

 

Main responsibilities:   As Director of Finance and Technology, Michael Draeger is charged with managing all finance, technology, human resources and company secretary functions at the IISS.

 

Background: Michael Draeger has worked in 29 countries around the globe, and most recently within the European finance and IT sector. He holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Manhattan College, as well as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) licenses.

 

In 1978 Michael started his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young in New York. He then began his international career within the audit divisions of Phibro-Salomon, Citibank and Deutsche Bank, reaching the level of Audit Director.

 

Beginning in 1994, Michael worked as a Management Consultant with LoBue Associates, Logica and PA Consulting, serving as Project Manager for various US, pan-European and global consulting engagements involving organisational reviews, business process reengineering and IT systems. He was then engaged as a freelance consultant in a variety of senior-level project management and IT systems development roles, with major banks and financial exchanges.

 

In 2003, he joined Riggs Bank Europe Ltd in London as Director of Finance and Information Technology, where he also held responsibility for overseeing the Corporate Treasury function, and served as a member of the Credit Committee.

 

Michael has been interviewed by various press organisations on subjects ranging from future trends in financial exchanges to the business and IT conversion implications of the Euro, and has been invited to address or chair European management, banking and technology conferences.
