  • 10 Nov 09 - IISS Workshop - Climate Change, Food, and Security On Tuesday July The IISS hosted a roundtable on ‘Climate Change: Impacts on Food and Security -Long-term strategic planning in a warming climate'. The event, which took place in London, saw the participation of over 20 international representatives from government agencies, research and academic institutions, and NGOs.
  • 23 Jul 09 - IISS Workshop - Conflict and Competition over Changing Water Resources On Thursday 23 July The IISS hosted a roundtable on ‘How states react to water stress: Recommendations for Long-Term Strategic Planning in a Warming Climate’. The event, which took place in London, saw the participation of over 20 international representatives from government agencies, research and academic institutions, and NGOs.
  • 05 May 09 - IISS-US - Conference - The Global Security Implications of Climate Change' On Tuesday, 5 May, the IISS convened the first conference of the Transatlantic Dialogue on Climate Change and Security at the Ritz Carlton in Washington DC. The title of the conference was ‘The Global Security Implications of Climate Change.’
  • 28 Apr 2009 - Book Launch - Energy and Climate Change: Europe at the Crossroads On Friday, 28 April 2009, David Buchan, senior research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, will launch his latest book, Energy and Climate Change: Europe at the Crossroads from 6-6:45pm.
  • 27 April 09 - IISS-US - Discussion Meeting - 'The Political Consequences of Climate Change' On Monday 27 April Paul F. Herman, Program Director, Transnational Issues, National Intelligence Council Long-Range Analysis Unit, Gregory F. Treverton, Director of the RAND Corporation’s Center for Global Risk and Security, and General Rich Engel (ret.), Director, Climate Change and State Stability Program, Office of the Director of National Intelligence will discuss ‘The Political Consequences of Climate Change’ from 5-6pm.
  • TDCCS Launch On Wednesday 25th February 2009, the IISS successfully launched its new programme, the Transatlantic Dialogue on Climate Change and Security, with an event at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in Washington, DC.
