On 15 December 2003, the IISS hosted a Special Panel Discussion with Dr Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema from Islamabad and Dr Rajesh Rajagopalan from New Delhi.
Dr Pervaiz Iqbal Cheema is President of the Islamabad Policy Research Institute, Islamabad. Earlier, he was Professor and Chairman of the Department of International Relations and the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, Quaid-i-Azam University, and Director General in the Ministry of Education.
Dr Rajesh Rajagopalan, Senior Fellow, Observer Research Foundation, New Delhi. Earlier, he served in the National Security Council Secretariat, and the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses.
At the IISS, Dr Cheema and Dr Rajagopalan spoke on 'Prospects for Indo-Pakistani Relations'. The meeting was off-the-record.
