30 June 2006 - HE Mr Sabihuddin Ahmed - Bangladesh: Challenges and Opportunities in a Globalised World

 
On 30 June 2006, the High Commissioner for Bangladesh to the United Kingdom HE Mr Sabihuddin Ahmed, gave a presentation on ‘Bangladesh: Challenges and Opportunities in a Globalised World’. The meeting was chaired by Dr Patrick Cronin, IISS Director of Studies.

HE Mr Sabihuddin Ahmed has been the High Commissioner for Bangladesh to the UK since October 2005. Prior to this assignment, he was the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Sweden. In Bangladesh, he has served as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia, during her first term in office (1991-1996), and as Secretary to the Ministry of Environment & Forests (1996-1998). He was also Private Secretary to the Minister of Information (1982-1983) and the Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (1978-1981). Educated at Dhaka University, he joined government service in January 1971.
