In November 2004, the edited volume “Russia and the European Union: Prospects for a New Relationship” was published by the IISS and Routledge. The book is edited by Oksana Antonenko, Senior Fellow, and Kathryn Pinnick, Programme Coordinator and Researcher with IISS Russia and Eurasia Programme. The book explores the implications of EU enlargement in May 2004 on EU-Russian relations. The book examines political, security, economic and social concerns that have been raised by the enlargement, and examines the opportunities and prospects for EU-Russia co-operation. The book includes essays by Russian and European experts who took part in the IISS project on Russian Regional Perspectives on Foreign and Security Policy which was funded by Carnegie Corporation of New York.
