On Wednesday 8 December 2004, Tanya Lokshina addressed the issue of "Nationalism and xenophobia in Russia: a growing concern?".
Tanya Lokshina is one of the leading experts on human rights in Russia with a particular focus on xenophobia and nationalism. She has been working in the Moscow Helsinki Group since 1998 as coordinator of international and domestic programs on human rights. Ms. Lokshina is also a member of the WCAR (World Conference against Racism) WCAR Preparatory Committee in Geneva (UN). Prior to her post at the Moscow Helsinki Group Ms. Lokshina taught at Brandeis University (USA) and worked as a columnist and editor for a weekly newspaper "Boston Courier". Ms. Lokshina is an author of numerous articles on racism and human rights.
