Central Asia and Afghanistan: Challenges, Opportunities and Prospects On 11-12 November 2008 IISS and the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan held an international conference on “Central Asia and Afghanistan; Challenges, Opportunities and Prospects” in Dushanbe (Tajikistan).

4th Georgian-Ossetian Dialogue The Fourth meeting of IISS facilitated Georgian-Ossetian Dialogue took place on May 19-20, 2006 in Tbilisi (Georgia). 10th Anniversary of the First war in Chechnya On December 6, the Eurasia Strategy Seminar will be dedicated to the 10th anniversary since the beginning of the first war in Chechnya in December 1994. Analysis of Tragic Events in Belsan The Eurasia Strategy Seminar on October 5 2004, was dedicated to the analysis of tragic events in Belsan, North Ossetia and its implications for Russian and international security. Speakers included General Aslambek Aslakhanov, Adviser to President Putin and Mr. Alexander Torshin, the Chairman of Parliamentary Commission on the Beslan Inquiry.
