On 12 February 2007 Dr Christopher Ford, U.S. Special Representative for Nuclear Nonproliferation, spoke on ‘Perspectives on the Nuclear Nonproliferation Regime’.
On the day of the scheduled event, an area-wide power outage prevented use of Arundel House, but the guest speaker was keen to carry on anyway, as were a dozen or so of the invited IISS member participants, so they assembled in the coffee shop of the Temple Underground Station, where Dr Ford made his presentation and led a lively discussion on US policy and views regarding the NPT, nuclear deterrence and disarmament.
