On 23-25 June 2005, the IISS, along with the Geneva Center for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and the Nixon Center, organised its fourth meeting in Geneva for representatives of the US and Iran to discuss security issues in the Persian Gulf. - Iran Nuclear Workshop
On 14 June 2005, the IISS organised a one-day Iran Nuclear Workshop, together with the Swedish Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission (WMDC) and the Nixon Center. - Gary Samore's Testimony at House of Lords
In January 2005, Dr Gary Samore, IISS Director of Studies and Senior Fellow for Non-Proliferation, testified at the House of Lords European Union Committee on EU strategy for non-proliferation and presented a Public Discussion Meeting at IISS on prospects for resolving the Iranian nuclear issue.
- Issues Facing NPT Review Conference
On 18-19 January 2005, the IISS and the Brookings Institution hosted a meeting in London for American and European officials and experts to discuss challenges facing the NPT on the eve of the 2005 NPT Review Conference.
