IISS hosts Chinese arms control delegation
On 24 July 2002, Senior Fellow for East Asia Security Adam Ward and Senior Fellow for Non-Proliferation Dr Gary Samore hosted a delegation of six visiting Chinese armscontrol officials and scholars at Arundel House.The delegation was led by Li Genxin, Division Director of the Department of Arms Control and Disarmament at China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with responsibility for policy analysis. Other members of the delegation included representatives from the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association and the China Defence Science and Technology Information Centre. Discussions during the visit focused in particular on exploring the prospects for closer armscontrol and non-proliferation cooperation between China and the United States.
