On 19 April 2005, the IISS and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) hosted a workshop for British non-proliferation experts and officials from various departments of the UK government, including the Department of Defence, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Cabinet Office, and the intelligence community, to discuss a CSIS study on the future threat from nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons proliferation and policy options for responding to this threat.
