Dr Sanjaya Baru is the Editor of a leading financial newspaper in India, The Business Standard. From May 2004 until August 2008 he was the Official Spokesman and Media Advisor to the Prime Minister of India. Prior to his official appointment, he was the Chief Editor of The Financial Express. He has also been the Associate Editor of The Economic Times and The Times of India. He is one of India’s most respected and influential commentators on political and economic issues, and is the IISS Consulting Senior Fellow for Geo-Economics and Strategy.
Jo Johnson is the Member of Parliament for Orpington and Contributing Editor of the Financial Times. Prior to his election as a Conservative Party MP on 6 May 2010, he was Editor of Lex, the FT's agenda-setting daily business and financial column. As the FT's South Asia Bureau Chief between 2005 and 2008, he wrote extensively about India's emergence on the world stage. He won the prestigious Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award for the Best Foreign Correspondent Covering India in 2007-08.
