On Friday 03 July 2009, Ambassador Rajiv Sikri, Former Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, India will speak on “Rethinking India’s Foreign Policy" from 12.00-1pm.
Ambassador Rajiv Sikri was the Secretary (Deputy Minister) in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, till late 2006, in charge of India’s relations with Central Asia, Caucasus, East Asia, ASEAN, the Pacific region, the Arab world, Israel and Iran. Earlier, he was Special Secretary (Economic Relations) and Additional Secretary (Strategy & Research) in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. In the latter post he was responsible for long-term strategic planning and forecasting. He also served as Ambassador of India to Kazakhstan and as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Paris.
This meeting will be chaired by Rahul Roy-Chaudhury, Senior Fellow for South Asia and will take place on the fourth floor at Arundel House 13-15 Arundel Street, Temple Place, London WC2R 3DX.
