On Friday 3 October 2008 the IISS is hosting a discussion meeting on “How Russia sees itself, its neighbourhood and the world” from 10-11:30am.

Prof. Richard Sakwa (University of Kent)
Last September, all speakers visited Russia as part of annual Valdai Club meeting and met with leading Russian experts, as well as top officials including President Medvedev, Prime-Minister Putin, Minister Lavrov, Deputy Prime-Minister Shuvalov and others. They also visited Chechnya and met with President Ramzan Kadyrov.
This discussion meeting will be an occasion to questions them on what they have seen, heard and leaned from these meetings.
This meeting will be chaired by Oksana Antonenko, Senior fellow for Russia and Eurasia, and will take place on the fifth floor at Arundel House,13-15 Arundel Street, Temple Place, London WC2R 3DX.
