H.E. Mr Murai Raj Sharma, Ambassador of Nepal, leads a forum on The Nepal Peace Process: bringing the Maoists to the negotiating table, Consitutional Assembly elections and future policy"

 

 

On Thursday 8 May 2008, H.E. Mr Murai Raj Sharma (Ambassador of Nepal) will lead a forum on "The Nepal Peace Process: bringing the Maoists to the negotiating table, Consitutional Assembly elections and future policy" from 12.30-1.30 pm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  

 

 

Synposis

H.E. Mr Murari Raj Sharma has been the Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom since 15 November 2007.  Earlier, he was Convener of the High Level Foreign Policy Task Force constituted by the Government of Nepal in 2006, and Member of the United Nations Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions.

 

Mr Sharma has served as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations in New York and concurrently accredited to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela and Cuba. In 1997-2000, Mr Sharma was the Foreign Secretary of Nepal.

 

Mr Sharma has Masters degrees in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh and in Economics and Commerce from Tribhuvan University. He was a Humphrey Fellow (1986-87) at the American University in Washington. He has co-authored a book titled ‘Reinventing the United Nations’ (2007).
