On Thursday 24 July 2008, General (retd.) Jehangir Karamat, Pakistan and Former High Commissioner G. Parthasarathy, India will speak on “India-Pakistan Composite Dialogue: Prospects for the 5th Round” from 1:30-2:30pm.
General (retd.) Jehangir Karamat was Pakistan’s Army Chief in 1996-1998 and concurrently, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. He also served as Ambassador of Pakistan to the United States in 2004-06. He is the Founder and Director of Spearhead Research, a private, non partisan and non-political centre for research, analysis and consultancy on political and security issues.
Mr. G. Parthasarathy was India’s High Commissioner to Pakistan in 1998-2000. Earlier he served as High Commissioner of India to Australia, Ambassador to Myanmar and High Commissioner to Cyprus. He also served in the Prime Minister’s Office in New Delhi. He is an Honorary Visiting Professor at the Centre for Policy Research and a well-known columnist on South Asian and international security affairs.
