On Wednesday 25 April 2007 Lieutenant General Karlheinz Viereck will be speaking on "Europe can do it - Reflections on EU Operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo" from 2pm.
Lieutenant General Viereck had from April 2006 to February 2007 the command of the EUFOR mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo as appointed EU Operation Commander. Previous posts have included: Commander of the Bundeswehr Operations Command in Potsdam, Commander of the 4th Air Division in Aurich and Deputy Chief of Staff and Director Operations at the NATO Joint Command HQ Northern Europe in Norway.
