  • 16 Aug 2007 - Visit - Japanese Delegation Singapore Events ArchiveA delegation of senior Japanese officials from five ministries (including the newly restyled Ministry of Defence) visited IISS-Asia on 16 August 2007 under the auspices of the Singapore International Foundation’s Raffles Programme, which aims to foster Japan-Singapore relations.
  • Discussion Meeting - Kerry Kartchner On Thursday 9 August 2007 Dr Kerry Kartchner, Senior Advisor for Strategic Planning, US State Department Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation, will lead a discussion on "U.S. Nuclear Modernisation Plans, Policies and Debates" from 3-4pm.
  • Discussion Meeting - Prof Peter D. Zimmerman On Thursday 9 August 2007 Professor Peter D. Zimmerman, Professor of Science and Security, Department of War Studies, King's College London, will lead a discussion meeting on "Beyond the Dirty Bomb: Re-thinking Radiological Terror" from 12.30-1.30pm.
  • Discussion Meeting - Admiral Dennis Blair On Thursday 26 July 2007 Admiral (ret.) Dennis Blair, IISS Council Member and Former Commander-in-Chief US Pacific Command, will lead an IISS Members’ Forum and Lunchtime Discussion on ‘Chinese military modernisation and US strategy in Asia’ at The International Institute for Strategic Studies – US, Washington DC from 12:15.
  • Address - General Rookmangud Katawal On Thursday 26 July 2007 General Rookmangud Katawal, Chief of the Army Staff Nepal, will speak on "Security Challenges in Post-Conflict Transition" from 4-5pm.
  • Address - Dr Fredrick W. Kagan On Monday 23 2007 Dr Fredrick W. Kagan, Resident Scholar of American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research, will speak on ‘The Status of and Prospects for the New US Strategy in Iraq' from 5-6:30pm.
  • Address - Benazir Bhutto 20.07.07BhuttoOn Friday 20 July 2007 Ms Benazir Bhutto, Chairperson Pakistan People's Party (PPP) & Former Prime Minister of Pakistan, addressed the IISS on "The Future of Democracy in Pakistan" from 12pm.
