  • Discussion Meeting - Dr Williamson Murray On Monday 5 November 2005, Dr Williamson Murray (Institute for Defense Analysis, and Professor Emeritus, Ohio State University) will lead a discussion meeting on "Iraqi Perspectives" from 3-4.30pm.
  • Discussion Meeting - César Gaviria On Monday 5 November 2005, César Gaviria (former President of Colombia) will lead a discussion meeting on "The 2007 Local Elections and Colombia’s Political Future" from 4.30-6 pm.
  • Discussion Meeting - Hamilton et. al. On Thursday 1 November 2007, the IISS will hold a discussion meeting on the topic of "Atlantic Storm" from 10-11.30am. The speakers are: Daniel Hamilton (Center for Transatlantic Relations, SAIS Johns Hopkins); Tara O’Toole (CEO of the Center for Biosecurity of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center); Tom Inglesby (COO and Deputy Director of the Center for Biosecurity of UPMC); and Brad Smith (Senior Associate, UPMC).

  • Lecture - Ashley J. Tellis On Friday 19 October 2007 Ashley J. Tellis, Senior Associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, will speak on the topic of "China’s Military Use of Space" from 11 am - 12 noon.
  • Key Address - Sergio Jaramillo Sergio JaramilloOn Wednesday 17 October 2007, Sergio Jaramillo (Deputy Minister of Defence for Colombia) will give an address on the topic of "Colombia: Drugs, Insurgency and the Search for Peace" from 12 noon.
  • Discussion Meeting - Professor Gary Sick On Wednesday 10 October 2007, Professor Gary Sick (Columbia University) will lead a discussion on " Strategic Consequences of the Iranian Nuclear Programme" from 10-11am.
