On Monday 5 June 2006 Ambassador Zamir Akram, Additional Secretary, Prime Minister's Secretariat, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad will speak on "Regional Security Prespectives". The talk will begin at 12.00 noon, followed by a Q&A session and finish at 1pm.
Ambassador Akram joined the Foreign Service of Pakistan in 1978. He has served in Pakistani diplomatic missions in Moscow, Geneva, New Delhi and Washington. His postings at Headquarters have included as Director (Afghanistan) in 1987-89 and Director General (South Asia) in 1998-2000. In August 2002, he was appointed as Pakistan's Ambassador to Nepal, and served in Kathmandu till March 2005. Ambassador Akram is currently Additional Secretary in the Prime Minister's Secretariat in Islamabad.
