21 Jun 06 - Discussion meeting - Mr Charles A. Stevenson

On Wednesday 21 June 2006, Mr Charles A. Stevenson, noted expert and analyst on American security, will discuss his new book on "U.S. Civil-Military Relations Under Stress". Mr Stevenson will discuss the Rumsfeld-Generals clash in historical context. The talk will begin at 2.00pm and there will follow an opportunity for questions and comments from the floor.
Charles A. Stevenson is a writer and speaker on U.S. national security policy, decision-making, and the politics of U.S. policy. He has published extensively, including "SecDef: the nearly impossible job of Secretary of  Defense" (Potomac Books, 2006) and "Warriors & Politicians: U.S. Civil-Military Relations under Stress" (Routledge, 2006).
 
As a Policy Analyst on defense and foreign policy issues he is a Member of the Secretary of State’s Policy Planning Staff, a Legislative Assistant, U.S. Senate, for defense & foreign policy and Professor, National War College.
 
This will be held in the 4th floor meeting room at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), Arundel House, 13-15 Arundel Street, Temple Place, London WC2R 3DX.
