16 Jun 06 - Special Corporate Members Programme - Dr Mamoun Fandy

On Friday 16 June 2006 Dr Mamoun Fandy, IISS Senior Fellow for Gulf Security, will speak on "Future Trends and Prospects for the Middle East". Tea and coffee will be served from 10am. The Talk will begin at 10:30  am with a Q & A session from 11:15 am. The meeting will conclude at 12 noon.
This event will be exclusively for Corporate and Institutional Members of the IISS and a few Special Guests.
 
Dr Mamoun Fandy started his appointment with the IISS on 1st May, having served as Senior Fellow of Arab and Middle East Politics at the James A. Baker lll Institute for Public Policy at Rice University, USA and concurrently as Editor of the bi-monthly Qadaya ‘Alamiyya (Global Issues). Prior to that he was a Senior Fellow at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington DC, Professor of Middle East Politics at the Near East-South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA) at the National Defense University, and Professor of Arab Politics at Georgetown University. His publications have included Saudi Arabia and the Politics of Dissent; Kuwait as a New Concept of International Politics; and The Politics of Arab Media. He is a frequent broadcaster and contributes regular articles to newspapers and magazines.
