On Monday 19 September 2005 Dennis Gormley, Senior Fellow, Monterey Institute Center for Nonproliferation Studies, will be speaking on “A Missile Proliferation Tipping Point: New Dynamics in Missile Offence and Defence”. This event will be held between 1:30pm and 2:30pm.
With the support of the Ploughshares Fund, Mr. Gormley is researching the extent to which countries may be drawing important lessons from the way American missile defenses performed against Iraqi ballistic and cruise missiles during the Second Gulf war. The talk covers several regional settings to show evidence that the lessons are indeed being absorbed and acted upon, including in some surprising ways, with important implications for regional crisis stability.
