17 Mar 2005 - Special Address - Lakshman Kadirgamar

On Thursday 17th March 2005 the Hon. Lakshman Kadirgamar M.P., Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka spoke on "Sri Lanka’s Foreign and Security Policy". The event was held between 12 noon - 1pm.
Minister Kadirgamar has served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs since April 2004. He also served in the same position from 1994 to 2001, during which he was selected Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and Vice Chairman of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC).
 
In 1991, Mr Kadirgarmar was appointed President’s Counsel and in 1995 elected an Honorary Master of the Inner Temple. He has been a member of the Presidential Advisory Group on Foreign Affairs and on the Panel of Consultants on Law Reforms in Sri Lanka.
 
Mr Kadirgarmar graduated from the University of Oxford (Balliol College) and was elected President of the Oxford Union in 1959. He is an Honorary Fellow of Balliol College.
