On Wednesday 16 March 16 2005 Lt. General Munir Hafiez, Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau, Government of Pakistan gave a talk on “Pakistan's Fight against Corruption: Problems and Prospects". The talk took place between 12 noon - 1pm.
Lt. General Munir Hafiez, Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military) was appointed Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau in 2002. He is also the Chairman of the Implementation Committee of the National Anti Corruption Strategy.
Earlier, General Hafiez served as a Corps Commander in the Pakistani Army. In his 38 years of service, he has held other prestigious appointments, including Command of a Strike Infantry Division/Two Infantry Brigades, and Commandant of his parent Mechanised Infantry Battalion. He also served as Director General of Infantry. He was a Senior Pakistan Army Officer in Saudi Arabia with the Royal Saudi Land Forces, including the period of the first Gulf War.
