On Friday 25 February 2005, Mr. Adam Ward, IISS Senior Fellow for East Asian Security and Editor of IISS Strategic Comments lead a round table discussion on "China's relations with India and Pakistan: having it both ways?"
Mr. Ward, the IISS’s expert on China’s foreign and security policy, recently visited South Asia. In New Delhi he presented a paper at an international conference on East Asian security and met senior officials and experts. In Islamabad he presented papers on East Asian security issues at prominent defence and security think-tanks. Mr. Ward is a well known author of articles on East Asian Affairs, including 'China and America: Trouble Ahead?' Survival Volume 45 Number 3 (Autumn 2003) and 'China's Manifest Destiny' Aspenia, No 23-24 ( 2004).
 
The round table discussion was held in the 4th floor meeting room at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), Arundel House, 13-15 Arundel Street, Temple Place, London WC2R 3DX from 12 noon to 1pm.
