14 February 2005 - Special Round Table Discussion - Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayyum

On Monday 14 February 2005, Sardar Muhammad Abdul Qayyum, Former President & Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJ&K) hosted a round table discussion on "Kashmir and the Peace Process". This took place at Arundel House between 3pm - 4pm.
Sardar Abdul Qayyum was elected President of AJ&K four times – in 1956, 1971, 1985 and 1990. In 1991, he resigned as President and was elected as Prime Minister. In 1996, he became a member of the AJ&K Legislative Assembly and leader of the Opposition. In 2002, Sardar Qayyum was appointed Chairman of President Musharraf’s National Kashmir Committee.
 
Sardar Abdul Qayyum is the Supreme Head of the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, a member of the AJ&K Assembly, and a member of the Constituent Council, World Muslim League. He has authored several books on the Kashmir dispute, as well as on spiritual and religious matters.
 
The round table discussion will be held in the 4th floor meeting room at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), Arundel House, 13-15 Arundel Street, Temple Place, London WC2R 3DX, on Monday, February 14, 2005 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.
