On Thursday 8 December 2005 Professor Amitav Acharya, Deputy Director and Head of Research at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore will be leading a discussion on "The East Asian Summit: Implications for Regional and International Order".
Professor Amitav Acharya is Deputy Director and Head of Research at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His previous appointments include a Professorship in Political Science at York University, Toronto and fellowships at Harvard University's Asia Center and John F. Kennedy School of Government. His recent publications include Constructing a Security Community in Southeast Asia: ASEAN and the Problem of Regional Order (Routledge, 2001; Chinese translation published by Shanghai People’s Press, 2004); Regionalism and Multilateralism: Essays on Cooperative Security in Asia Pacific (Singapore, EUP, 2003); Age of Fear: Power Versus Principle in the War on Terror (Singapore: Marshall Cavendish, and New Delhi, Rupa, 2004); and Reassessing Security Cooperation in the Asia Pacific (co-editor, MIT Press, 2005).
