On Thursday, April 14, 2005 Dr Rifaat Hussain, Senior Research Fellow, National Defence College, Islamabad gave a talk on 'Prospects for the Musharraf-Singh - Meeting on April 16/17 and the Peace Process'.
Dr Rifaat Hussain has been at Pakistan’s prestigious National Defence College since March 2003. Earlier, he was Professor and Chairman of the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad and Visiting Faculty at the Centre for International Security and Cooperation, Stanford University, U.S.A. In 1994-97, Dr Hussain served as Minister for information in the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C.
Dr Hussain has contributed to several books and journals on Pakistan’s foreign and security policy, and is a widely respected commentator on regional and international security issues in the media. Dr Hussain has a Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Denver.
