  • Discussion Meeting - Bob van der Zwaan On Friday 9 December 2005 Bob van der Zwaan, Senior Scientist at the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) will be speaking on "Nuclear Energy and Climate Change: Security and Sustainability".
  • Corporate Members‘ Prog - Mark Fitzpatrick On Thursday 8 December Mark Fitzpatrick, IISS Senior Fellow for Non-Proliferation, will speak on "Future Challenges in Non-Proliferation".
  • Discussion Meeting - Professor Amitav Acharya On Thursday 8 December 2005 Professor Amitav Acharya, Deputy Director and Head of Research at the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore will be leading a discussion on "The East Asian Summit: Implications for Regional and International Order".
  • Alastair Buchan Memorial Lecture - ElBaradei On 6 December 2005 Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has agreed to deliver the 2005 Alastair Buchan Memorial lecture at the IISS. Dr. ElBaradei and the IAEA have recently been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
  • The Brigadier Kenneth Hunt Memorial Seminar On Monday 28 November 2005 Mr Adam Ward chaired a seminar on "Japan's Security in an Uncertain World" from 1.30-3pm. The speakers were: HE Mr Yoshiji Nogami, Mr Makio Miyagawa, Dr John Swenson-Wright, and Dr Christopher W. Hughes.
  • Corporate Members‘ Programme - Dr Cronin On Friday 18 November 2005 the Honorable Patrick Cronin gave a talk on 'US Foreign Policy: New Themes for the Bush Administration' exclusively for Corporate and Institutional Members of the IISS. The meeting began at 10.30am, although tea and coffee were served from 10am with a Q & A session from 11.15am. The meeting will concluded at 12 noon.
